International Baccalaureate

Anglican Church Grammar School is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and Primary Years Programme. The School is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School.

Once authorised, two IB programmes will be available to Churchie students:
  • Diploma Programme – for students aged 16 to 19 years
  • Primary Years Programme – for students aged 3 to 12 years

The International Baccalaureate was introduced in 1968 with an original purpose of facilitating the international mobility of students, by providing students with a curriculum and qualification recognised by universities around the world. In this sense, the IB augments Churchie’s focus on internationalisation, providing students with increased opportunities to be connected with the global community and pursue international study and career options.

In addition to an international focus, there are many other synergies between Churchie’s existing curriculum approach and the IB. These include research-based approaches to teaching, professional educators of the highest standard, and student learning at the core.
