International Baccalaureate

In June 2017, Churchie became authorised by International Baccalaureate (IB) as an IB World School for the delivery of the Primary Years Programme. The Primary Years Programme is currently being offered to students in the Prep School from Reception to Year 6.
Churchie is a candidate school* for the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and is pursuing authoristion as an IB World School for the delivery of this progamme.
The International Baccalaureate was introduced in 1968 with an original purpose of facilitating the international mobility of students, by providing students with a curriculum and qualification recognised by universities around the world. In this sense, the IB augments Churchie’s focus on internationalisation, providing students with increased opportunities to be connected with the global community and pursue international study and career options.
In addition to an international focus, there are many other synergies between Churchie’s existing curriculum approach and the IB. These include research-based approaches to teaching, professional educators of the highest standard, and student learning at the core.
