On 31 January the Churchie community commemorated Founder’s Day with a service at St John’s Cathedral.
It was a wonderful celebration of Churchie’s tenet of spiritual awareness, which included the commissioning of our 2017 Prefects and House Captains, the Headmaster and School Council members by The Right Reverend Alison Taylor, Bishop of the Southern Region.
Our leaders reflected on their duty of service to others and were reminded that service need not be grandiose, but that we should find expression in our daily lives at home and at school. As a community, we were also reminded that that we don’t need a badge to be a leader or serve those in need.
The addresses by key staff and council members empowered the boys to do their very best while ensuring they support each other. The Founder’s Day service also featured fine performances from Churchie’s music ensembles.
